Scrap or Dare #13

Change always comes bearing gifts. ~Price Pritchett

I have been rethinking the whole Scrap or Dare thing and I have decided to make a change.

The definition of Dare is:

1. To have the courage required for:
2. To challenge (someone) to do something requiring boldness
3. To confront or oppose boldly

And to be honest, I dont feel that I have been Daring enough. Now, dont worry, I am not going to be all outrageous! I am going to simply be … more Daring… There are so many challenge sites out there right now and a ton more to come. Every week, it seems I am stumbling upon a new challenge site (that sometimes have just started up!). My greatest passion is being an inspiration to others and if I can do that through Scrap or Dare, then a big WOO HOO! :) I also find that, personally, my growth in creating comes from these challenges (especially when I do more than one on a project). I find that I am challenged to try something new because of these challenges and I love it! (I hope it is the same for you!)

From this point on, all Scrap or Dares will be just that… a Dare! These could include techniques, sketches, product inspirations, quotes, photo inspirations, etc etc. So be forewarned that when you come by on Tuesday, it will be different every time.

I found this adorable print over at Nessa Dee’s Etsy Shop. I thought this print would be PERFECT to help inspire you all for this week’s Dare:

  • Create a Project using the Paper Piecing technique
  • Paper Piece without the use of Stamps
  • Use at least three (3) different Patterned Papers

Card RECIPE:

PAPERS: CTMH– Free Spirit
STAMPS: CTMH– Dainty Thoughts and Playful Flourishes
EMBELLISHMENTS: Copper Brads and Papertrey Ink Enchanted Ribbon
SKETCH: Mojo Monday

I drew out my own diamond shape using cardstock and then traced it onto the different scraps of paper that I had. After they were cut out, I distressed the edges of the diamonds for a more rough look. Most of my stuff comes out pretty clean, so this time I wanted to make the card a bit more masculine. Ok, I know it is still pretty clean, but I tried! hehe

I hope that you all find this Dare to be a great challenge to your creative abilities and have fun!

Wow, I’m impressed!! I have tried to cut diamonds before, and let’s just say…. they didn’t come out as beautifully as yours ;) Very nice work (love the brads as accents, too)!!

Super cute! I love it.

Amy I had a bit of a problem with this Dare but I guess that is the true meaning isn’t it? Here is my take on your Dare. Hope it measures up :D
