Scallops with Papertrey Ink!

bloghoplogo

Is it true??? It is already the 25th of February and time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!?

I can not believe how quickly 2011 is going by. I have been wanting to blog more, especially the projects I have been working on, but have been oober busy over here. I hope everyone is well and that you are enjoying the blog hop so far :) This month’s challenge was to use Scallops in any and every way. As you will see, my new stamp set from Papertreiy just arrived and I couldn’t wait to get my hands dirty! I used it to create two sweet Baby Shower cards. My scallops have been layered 6 times in order to achieve some sort of a elegant, soft texture. I love how it turned out!

I only had a short time to play with my new stamp set, Button Boutique, but I have to say that this may become a new favorite! It has sparked so many new ideas and inspiration! Thanks to Mish and Nichole for providing another amazing stamp set that can be used in so many creative ways… The cards below are just a few that I had fun with tonight and are also just another sneak peek of what is to come in my Etsy Shop!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my creations! See you next month!

Papertrey Ink Color Challenge #2

… and I am back with card # 2 which features Nichole’s favorite color combo. I just LOVE this combo and we all know that I can not resist a combo using Kraft!  I created this card using the Card Pattern sketch 101 which went perfectly with the cute Papertrey diecuts that I wanted to use! This is my first card using Love Lives Here and I adore it! Many more adorable projects to come, using that stamp set and the coordinating dies!

And if you missed the first card using Betsy’s lovely combo, click here! You absolutely MUST check out the rest of the beautiful color combo challenge entries, so make your way Here, next!

This card features a new paper pack called Wings. This pack has the most beautiful color combo of Juniper, Sweet Leaf, Vineyard Berry and Black! I just am in love with the combo! I also included a strip of the Kraft Color-Ready Borders! Okay, are you ready for this?! First of all, they are Kraft — amazing! Second, the backside has adhesive all ready for you to peel and stick! It is wonderful, convenient, all that good stuff! I included a photo of some of the designs that are included in the pack below.

Products used: Wings Paper Pack (X1375A/B), Kraft Color-Ready Borders (Z1377), Licorice Opaques Adhesive Gems (Z1335)

And for card #2, well, I needed something simple and sweet. This card took about 10 minutes to think up and create, so I am pretty happy with how it turned out. The only new product featured is the Kraft Color-Ready Borders — I have a feeling you will be seeing these beauties a lot! I used it as a ledge for the cutie owl from “You’re A Hoot” which I paper pieced together so that her eyes could have some color… aint she a doll!? When you do a simple card, you have to keep it simple, but the layout of your stamps and colors/embellishments need to flow too. I had fun laying it all and can’t wait to pass this card on to someone special!

Keepin’ it Short but Sweet

IMG_6229

I am so excited for 2011… just another year full of new experiences, creations and happy moments! As I was cleaning the house and putting things away I realized I never did send any Christmas thank yous. So here are my short but sweet cards. Wanna guess how long these sweet thangs took me (there were actually a set of 6 — two of each)! A whoppin’ 30 minutes!

I took a small 4.5 x 6.5″ matstack from DCWV, called Linen Closet and chose 9 gorgeous papers to create with. I used the more simple patterned papers and folded them in half for the card bases and die cut the focal points out of the more elaborate papers using Papertrey Ink’s Mat Stack 4 die. Then I stamped the sentiment on creamy white cardstock and chopped them down to create a little banner — the banners were adhered using popdots for dimension. I quite like the simplicity of these cards. The matching button to the right ties it all in and adds that sweet little touch that I was looking for.

You will probably see me using this method for Thank You’s more often now that I know how easy and cute they are. I always am looking for new projects to use the small matstack papers with and the best part is that all of the papers match so it takes all of the guess work out of it for you!

I hope the recipients enjoy opening their cards and know that they are appreciated! Lots of love was mailed out today!

OH! And if you are still in need of a 2011 Calendar, you have to check out this gorgeous printable calendar from Homemadesimple.com HERE (and it is FREE!)! Check out a few peaks of it below:
