Scrap or Dare #16 — Stick Figures

stick copyThis week’s Dare is a little out of the box, but still simple and cute! I DARE YOU to use a Stick Figure somewhere on your project. My inspiration comes from Kristina Werner’s card yesterday that was just so adorable! I bet we could come up with plenty of fun ways to use Stick Figures in our projects, especially our cards. Are you with me!?

  • Couples — Wedding, Baby, Anniversary, New Home
  • Children — Birthday or Baby Congrats
  • Trees — Spring, Fall, Sympathy
  • Girls — Missing you, Friendship, For Fun, Birthday
  • Boys — Sports, Friendship, Birthday

MY CREATION:

I used Close To My Heart’s brand new papers called, Twitterpated. This paper will be available in just one week! Woo hoo! Such a cute paper pack! The Layout of this card comes from this week’s CPS Sketch and I used some fun Chocolate polka dot ribbon along with some Rhinestones  in the shape of a bracket. I drew my little stick figure girlie twice before I liked the outcome, but I think she ended up being a little cutie, hehe

Happy creating!

Scrap or Dare: 3 Years of Bliss…

Today marks 3 years of wonderful marriage to my amazing hubby! We’re not a picture of the perfect marriage but I can honestly say that these past 3 years have been wonderful for me. We have had our ups and our downs, but ultimately both the good and tough times have brought us closer to each other and closer to God.

Here is a little snippet of what our Special Day look like 3 years ago on August 18th, 2006. Enjoy!

((See Dare Below))

Today’s Dare is to use a Top 10 List on your project! It can be anything from Top 10 reasons you scrapbook, things you love to do in the summer, memories of pregnancy… ANYTHING!This should be extremely easy, as I am sure we all have many blessings in our lives.

I will also be giving away a prize for this week’s Dare, all you have to do is play along with the Dare and will receive an additional entry to win if you use our wedding colors:

Coral/Red
Yellow
Green
Orange
Cream

Have fun and check back soon for my creation (below is my list :)! Tonight we will be out to celebrate our Anniversary, so hopefully soon I will play!

Top 10 Reasons I Love My Man:

  1. He uplifts & encourages me to seek the Lord
  2. He loves me unconditionally
  3. He is wise
  4. He calls my scrapbooking “art” and means it :)
  5. He’s  a bit nerdy, but not too much
  6. He is an artist
  7. He loves everything I cook and bake for him
  8. He helps me out when he knows I need it
  9. He loves to dance
  10. He’s cuddly

Scrap or Dare 14

This week’s Dare is to use these photos as inspiration to manipulate your paper! This could mean cutting, layering, folding, crumpling, puffing… anything! Just remember to Dare yourself… do something you may have never tried before or maybe you have tried it but it’s something fresh and new to you!

Most of these photos were found on Etsy and the links are below where you can find them, if you find that you have fallen in love with any of the items! I am looking forward to seeing your creations and how you all challenge yourselves to be dared! After your creation is complete, please simply leave a link in the comment section of this post! Hope you all have a WONDERFUL week!

MY DARE CREATIONS!

I created a paper rosette by accordion folding a 12×1″ piece of paper, adhering the ends together and pressing down. I then put a nice big glob of glue in the center and placed the circle in the center, holding down until it dried. It was fairly quick and easy and I LOVE the way it looks!

Papers are PaperTrey Ink and I used the color combo from the Raspberry Suite Challenge 14! So gorgeous! I also used the sketch #27 from Card Patterns for this card. Silhouette Stamp *new* from CTMH… coming this September!

This card sketch comes from Unscripted Sketches… I just loved how unique it was for a card sketch, so I had to use it!

I decided to try something new with my stapler… so I plumped up the paper and stapled away to create a fun wave with the papers. It is as unique as the sketch is, so I just love how this card turned out. I also used Black Stickles for the dots around the edge of the scalloped circle.

Hope you all will play along this week, I definitely FEEL challenged but am happy with the outcome!

Scrap or Dare #13

Change always comes bearing gifts. ~Price Pritchett

I have been rethinking the whole Scrap or Dare thing and I have decided to make a change.

The definition of Dare is:

1. To have the courage required for:
2. To challenge (someone) to do something requiring boldness
3. To confront or oppose boldly

And to be honest, I dont feel that I have been Daring enough. Now, dont worry, I am not going to be all outrageous! I am going to simply be … more Daring… There are so many challenge sites out there right now and a ton more to come. Every week, it seems I am stumbling upon a new challenge site (that sometimes have just started up!). My greatest passion is being an inspiration to others and if I can do that through Scrap or Dare, then a big WOO HOO! :) I also find that, personally, my growth in creating comes from these challenges (especially when I do more than one on a project). I find that I am challenged to try something new because of these challenges and I love it! (I hope it is the same for you!)

From this point on, all Scrap or Dares will be just that… a Dare! These could include techniques, sketches, product inspirations, quotes, photo inspirations, etc etc. So be forewarned that when you come by on Tuesday, it will be different every time.

I found this adorable print over at Nessa Dee’s Etsy Shop. I thought this print would be PERFECT to help inspire you all for this week’s Dare:

  • Create a Project using the Paper Piecing technique
  • Paper Piece without the use of Stamps
  • Use at least three (3) different Patterned Papers

Card RECIPE:

PAPERS: CTMH– Free Spirit
STAMPS: CTMH– Dainty Thoughts and Playful Flourishes
EMBELLISHMENTS: Copper Brads and Papertrey Ink Enchanted Ribbon
SKETCH: Mojo Monday

I drew out my own diamond shape using cardstock and then traced it onto the different scraps of paper that I had. After they were cut out, I distressed the edges of the diamonds for a more rough look. Most of my stuff comes out pretty clean, so this time I wanted to make the card a bit more masculine. Ok, I know it is still pretty clean, but I tried! hehe

I hope that you all find this Dare to be a great challenge to your creative abilities and have fun!
